My Family and I just got back from spending Christmas in Fort Myers Beach Florida. We were stuck in traffic in front of Getaway Marina. My Oldest son, 14 saw the deep sea fishing sign and wanted to go. We stopped in and before we left we had booked a 1/2 day deep sea fishing trip aboard the Great Getaway for the next day. Couldn't beat the price!! My Husband was$57 (included EVERYTHING needed to fish, I was $35 (I didn't fish) and each of the Kids were $35 each (included EVERYTHING they needed to fish!). The Mates on the boat, Graham, Christie, and Mike, were not only helpful but extremely friendly. My youngest was a little apprehensive about the whole idea of touching anything...The mates not only got her excited but she held more than one of her catches!! The mates fillet our catch and then we took them to Parrot Key Restaurant and they cooked them up for us! What a great day on the water and a great dinner that we had a blast catching as a family!! Thanks to all the staff at Getaway Marina! We will definitely be back next Christmas!!

My husband and I have gone on the head boat but we love the private charters!! during Christmas we go for snapper and grouper on either the Lady Renee, Bobby B, or Southwind (the boats names). The girl in the marina office wasn't lying when she said "once you have fresh grouper straight from the water you will never want it any other way"!!
