Absolutely terrible guide service, I don't know what else to say when the guide catches more fish than the six clients in the boat. I booked a trip to get my father-in-law and brother-in-law a chance to catch some salmon, and after reading reviews for this charter decided to go with them. To keep this short, I will just list the things that occurred; no opportunity to put on life jackets, no introduction to our guide, my brother-in-law had to teach another client how to cast his spinning outfit while our guide fished, I had to help my father-in-law learn how to cast. Our guide, whose name is Doug, fished for approximately three hours out of the five, Doug caught 11 salmon while the six clients caught 5. I confronted Doug about the terrible job he was doing after I overheard him talking to Terri about the 25-30 fish that we had caught. This was not the first guided fishing or hunting trip that I had been on, but it will be the last that I take with Fisherman's Choice. The only good thing I have to say about this business is that Terri was polite and seemed genuinely concerned when I contacted her about Doug's actions on the trip. She told me to talk to Ray when we got back to the launch site. When I attempted to speak with Ray about our trip, he was extremely rude to myself and one other client. After I told Ray what had happened, he basically called me a liar and said too bad, he couldn't help us. I will NOT recommend this service to any of my friends, family, Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, or Marines that I work with.
Heck yeah this is eaxtlcy what I needed.

Catching a 37lb King had to be the best fishing experience I have ever had! We got the pleasure of having Ray and Minnesota Mike as our guides. You can't ask for better entertainment. Your knowledge and fishing techniques are second to none! Thanks for the trip.

Hello folks, My experiences with fisherman,s choice charter,s go way back!back to my taxidermy shop back east.where captain ray would bring me in a 200+lbs whitetail buck every season!I mean every season!!what an outstanding hunter,never anything small!I had the oportunity to become a guide for him,and I took it.WOW,what a learning experience,The process of licencing through the coast guard and homeland security is enough to scare most people away from becoming a guide!But the manager Terry made sure I stayed the course.Ray trained me on the creeks,believe me when I say those drift boats can be a handfull.you have to read those creeks just like a book,they are always changing! Captain Ray taught me many tricks,etc-I learned well!whenever I had a question there was always an answer waiting for me,there was lots of questions,believe me.Terry does fish reports all season,this is a never ending supply of first hand information which is handed down to the guides and benefits the client greatly!His equipment is top notch!the boats are extremely nice for the creeks,the ride alone is worth the trip!The safety of the client,s and crew is alway,s first.fishing is second,We know where the fish are.keeping up with the regulations alone keeps you on your toe,s. most people do not realize the day at Fisherman,s choice charter,s starts at about three thirty in the morning and ends around 7 that evening. every day, seven day,s a wk.But they wouldn,t have it any other way,Theres just something about showing someone an adventure of a lifetime !AT FISHERMAN,S CHOICE YOU MOST DEFINATELY WILL GET THAT!

I have been fishing with Ray Blodgett and Fisherman’s Choice Charters every summer since 2003. It is an experience that my son and I will remember the rest of our lives. My 14 year old son Max, who is an active member of the Navy Sea Cadets, has learned many valuable lessons from his friend and mentor, Ray. We still get a chuckle when we think about Ray yelling at a rookie guide who thought the King Salmon limit was two per day, rather than the updated daily limit of only one.
Throughout our many summers spent in Alaska, we have found that there are many outfitters and guides that simply take your money and “you get what you get”. Ray’s passion and commitment towards making your trip the best possible are rarely duplicated.

I have been fishing with Ray Blodgett many times. He is a honest guy and shows professionalism that is rare these days. My fiancé and I have really enjoyed every trip we have gone on with him.
On every trip we have taken with Ray, he has taken time to educate his clients about the fishing regulations and has asked everyone on the boat to show their fishing license before leaving. I would recommend his guide service to anyone who wants to have a memorable fishing trip.

Thank you for this opportunity to tell you and/or any interested party/parties what a great Alaskan experience I had during my fishing trip with Ray of Fisherman’s Choice last summer (2009).
I am a licensed veterinarian in California and do not get many vacations. My practice is busy and I really wanted my trip to Alaska to count for something..
I love the outdoors, but never had many opportunities to fish. I was advised by a client to contact Ray and ask him how I could make my days in Alaska memorable. I called Ray-he suggested sights to see and lodging that turned out to be marvelous.
I booked my trip with Fisherman’s Choice. Ray advised me where to get my license and what I should bring for added fun and comfort. I had a great time, caught a huge fish , got a mosquito bite and a sunburn on my nose.
I will always recommend Fisherman’s Choice to anyone wanting to have a safe and enjoyable Alaskan experience.

As you know I suffer from ‘CFD’, a.k.a. Chronic Fishing Disorder. The only relief for my disease is when I have a fishing pole in my hands and I am surrounded by professional, knowledgeable and understanding fishing guides like you and your crew. Unfortunately, my two young daughters also suffer from this hereditary disease, just as my father, my daughter’s grandfather did before us. Luckily for me and my family you and your guides have provided us with years of relief from this dreaded hereditary disease.
Thank you for providing me and my family and friends with countless quality fishing trips over the years. I can’t begin to tell you how much we have enjoyed fishing with you and your wonderful guides. As a father I have always appreciated your attention to safety and your unwavering concern for my family’s wellbeing. My only regret is that we will not be able to fish with you this summer. But with a little luck, we will all be back in Alaska in 2011 and fishing once again with Fishermen’s Choice Charters.

I first met Capt. Ray in June 2008. I have been to Alaska many times before fishing for Silver Salmon. This was our first attempt at King Salmon. The first day, of our two day trip, was a complete bust. After returning to Talkeetna, I was approached by a complete stranger, who heard about our day and he told me to call Capt. Ray.
Needless to say our second day was a huge win. We all caught our limit and we ended our short trip from Colorado with many fish and a new friend in Capt. Ray. I came back two months later with my son and nephew for Silver Salmon and yes we called Capt. Ray. We all caught our limits and again had a wonderful time in Alaska. June 2009. Back again for King Salmon season with guess who? Capt. Ray. This was by far the best trip I have ever put together. Fishing was great, weather was great, and the friendship continues to grow with Ray.
I'll be back again in June 2010 with more of my friends who have already met Ray and will only fish in his boat. We trust him, he is a professional and he has become a good friend.

I called fisherman's choice, at 800-989-8707 and when I spoke with them, it was like talking to an old friend about fishing. They do not treat you like "Just another customer". I booked my trip with them, and will probably book future trips with Fisherman's Choice Charters because if the great customer service they have.
