About Us
Inshore and nearshore light tackle and fly fishing charters in Charleston, and Kiawah Island, SC. Fulltime guide for last 11 years with 3 new boats.Reviews
We have fished with Captain John and Affinity Charters about 10 times in the last 3 years. Always works hard and puts us on the fish, he really enjoys his job and it shows.
I had a friend visit from out of town. We decided to book an inshore fishing charter through Captain Ward of Affinity Charters. I was very clear to him that we wanted to catch Red Fish, as my friend had never caught one before. Captain Ward said he would make it happen, and set us on our way. Well come to find out this would be the worst charter experience my friend and I had ever encountered. Our guide took the lead on the 17' flats boat. Meaning he was casting from the bow, so he was the first to cast along the banks as we drifted by, leaving us to cast in his already fished water. Not to mention that because he was on the bow, my buddy on the aft end, I was in the center forced to cast overhand vice a more accurate side cast. my buddy and I were also handed not-so-new rods and reels, as our guide had a much nicer one than us. I know this, because i had gotten hung up while fishing some old posts and he handed me his to use while he quickly re-assembled my mess. Our fishing guide appeared to be more into the fishing trip for himself rather than ensuring the fishing trip be about us. This was a $600 charter; it should be only about us! My buddy and I felt as if we were just tagging along on his trip. Our guide caught most fish and my buddy and I each caught a couple trout and flounder, even though I specifically asked to catch Red Fish. After the day ended, I called Captain Ward to tell him about our disappointing experience. Capt Ward apologized and offered me a $75 discount on my next fishing charter with him. Well John Ward, you can keep that offer as I will never book a charter through you again.
Don’t waste your time or money with Affinity Charters, look elsewhere. If you would like more details on this terrible experience, you can email me at: bobbycook2006@yahoo.com
This guy did not fish with AFFINITY CHARTERS or any of our captains, we were totally booked and I referred him to another captain ( Brandon). Sounds like he had a bad trip and I feel bad for sending him to another captain but we were already booked. We have been in business for over 11 years and strive to make every charter a great one for our clients, please check out other reviews.
Affinity Charters offers 3 new boats to choose from and are fulltime guides that fish for Quantum Reels and Scout and Maverick Boats. Friendliest guides that are willing to work hard to make your trip a memory filled adventure.
